Screw Drivers Color Locations
Unlock every paint color on the island — hidden collectibles for car customization.
Hidden colors are collectible paint pickups scattered across the Screw Drivers island. Finding a color unlocks it permanently in the garage for car customization. Like treasures, hidden colors only spawn in career mode — they do not appear in the tech tree or creative mode.
How the color system works
Color pickups appear as small, glowing markers in the game world. Drive over or near a pickup to collect it. Once collected, the color is permanently added to your paint palette in the garage. You can then apply it to any vehicle at any time.
Colors range from standard finishes — reds, blues, greens — to rare and unusual shades that are not available by default. The rare colors are typically hidden in harder-to-reach locations or tucked away in areas that most players do not visit during normal racing.
An achievement tracks your color collection progress. Finding all colors is a completionist goal that rewards thorough exploration of the island.
Where to find colors
Along main roads
Some color pickups are placed along the main roads that connect race locations. These are the easiest to find — simply drive the roads in free run mode and watch for glowing markers on the roadside. These introductory colors teach you what to look for and reward basic exploration.
Off-road locations
Many colors are off the beaten path. They sit in fields, on hillsides, near beaches, and in forest clearings. Reaching these requires leaving the road and driving through terrain that may challenge low-clearance vehicles. An all-terrain build with good suspension makes off-road color hunting much easier.
Elevated positions
Some colors are on elevated platforms, cliff edges, or hilltops. These may require creative vehicle builds to reach — the same techniques used for hard-to-reach treasure chests apply here. Helicopter builds, ramp vehicles, and rock climbers can all access elevated color pickups.
Hidden areas
The island has hidden areas that are not immediately visible from main roads. Tunnels, caves, overgrown paths, and terrain depressions can all contain color pickups. Exploring thoroughly and checking areas that look unusual or suspicious is the best way to find these.
Color hunting strategy
Systematic exploration is more efficient than random driving. Divide the island into sections and methodically cover each one. Drive along the edges of each section, then cross through the interior. Check elevated areas and terrain features within each section.
Use free run mode for color hunting. Races have time pressure and defined routes that prevent thorough exploration. Free run lets you stop, investigate, and backtrack without penalty.
Combine color hunting with treasure hunting. Since both systems are career-mode-only and reward exploration, you can collect both simultaneously. See Treasure Locations for chest locations that often overlap with color areas.
Return to areas after unlocking better vehicles. Some colors are inaccessible with early-game parts but become reachable once you have more powerful engines, better suspension, or specialized build components.
Achievement tracking
The game tracks how many colors you have found. Check your achievement progress to see how many remain. The achievement for collecting all colors is one of the exploration-based accomplishments in Screw Drivers and demonstrates thorough knowledge of the island.
Colors are permanent unlocks — once collected, they are available in every save file and game mode. There is no risk of losing them.
Customization options
After collecting colors, visit the garage to apply them to your vehicles. The paint menu shows all available colors, including both default options and collected unlocks. Mix and match colors across different vehicle parts for unique looks.
Collected colors are also available in multiplayer, so you can show off your exploration achievements to other players. A rare color on your vehicle signals to the community that you have thoroughly explored the island.
